Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present The Toy Collectors Sale – a timed auction on Sunday, August 9, 2026. With over 160 lots, the sale features a vast array of vintage toys – teddy bears and other animals, dolls, cars and trucks, sewing machines, trains, boats, airplanes. In addition, there are several hood ornaments and some British advertising signs. These items come from multiple sources: a private toy museum in Carmel Valley, California; deaccessions from SFO Museum; and other collectors and estates.
Stuffed toys include animals and teddy bears from Stieff, Schuco, Bing Werke and others. There are a wide variety of cast iron or tin toys – cars, race cars, taxis, fire and dump trucks, motorcycles, buses, limousines, tractors, delivery vans and carts, boats, tanks, and a petrol tanker. Their makers include Buddy L, Kenton, Keystone, Steelcraft, Kellerman, Tonka, Paya, Pocher, Fischer, Einfalt, Hoge, Marline, Dinky, Revell, Kokyu, Matchstick, J. Chein, and others. Several lots of toy soldiers are lead or plastic. Aviation lots include airplane and jet models, a Zeppelin, and airplane banks. There are groupings of Japanese Kokeshi dolls, plus several from Kewpie; numerous miniature sewing machines; and a Russian pedal car. Toy trains, mostly O gauge, are from American Flyer, Lionel, and Marx.
